All You Want to Know About Bakery Products Packaging
The use of materials such as PE (Polyethylene), OPP (Oriented Polypropylene) and CPP (Cast Polypropylene) is quite common in bakery product packaging. These materials are preferred for different purposes in the packaging industry because they have different properties.
1. PE (Polyethylene): PE is a popular packaging material due to its properties such as flexibility, durability and water resistance. It can be produced in different densities and is often used in products such as plastic bags, stretch film and food packaging. PE packaging is generally classified as low density (LDPE) or high density (HDPE). While LDPE is more flexible, HDPE is harder and more durable.
2. OPP (Oriented Polypropylene): OPP is a type of transparent plastic and has a surface suitable for printing. Therefore, it is preferred for clear display of graphics and text on packaging. OPP film is generally used as transparent or opaque. It is frequently used in the packaging of products such as dried foods, snacks, biscuits and chocolate.
3. CPP (Cast Polypropylene): CPP is a derivative of polypropylene produced by the casting method. It has a more flexible structure than OPP. CPP can make products have a longer shelf life and better protect the contents against external factors. CPP is generally used in the packaging of products such as frozen foods, pastry products, coffee and nuts.
The selection of these materials is made depending on factors such as the characteristics of the product, the protection needs of the packaging, production and printing processes. In packaging design, it is important to pay attention to the type of product, transport conditions and the experience offered to the consumer.
